Lietuvos bankas published the balance of payments for November 2025, which shows that:
the surplus on the current account balance (CAB) decreased significantly, compared to October, from €527.7 million to €143.2 million. This development was mainly determined by the primary income balance, which turned from a surplus to a deficit, and a decrease in the surplus on the balance of services. The exports of services that fell much faster than imports (by 13.6% and 7.9%, respectively) reduced the surplus on the balance of services (20.7%) to €758.5 million. The deficit on the primary income balance (€123.7 million) mainly reflects the reduced flow of European Union subsidies to Lithuania. With a slight fall in exports and imports of goods (3.2% and 2.3%, respectively), the foreign trade deficit increased (2.7 %) to €523.5 million. The surplus on the secondary income balance decreased from €74.9 million to €32.0 million;
the positive net flow of financial account investment (€502.6 million) was mainly driven by the positive net flow of portfolio investment (€1.0 billion), which outweighed negative flows in other net investment (€419.5 million), direct investment (€91.4 million), and the decrease of the official reserve assets (€30 million).
