Latvian women’s national basketball team captain Anete Šteinberga played her 100th game for the national team on Saturday, 15 November. She has become the thirteenth player in the history of the women’s national team to reach the “100-game club.”

Since her debut on 27 May 2012, Anete has participated in four European Championship final tournaments and the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, each time recording the team’s highest efficiency rating. She has scored more than 20 points in 14 official games (including four games with more than 30 points) and has registered 19 double-doubles.

She also holds several Latvian women’s national team records in official games:

  • Efficiency rating of 42 – 12 February 2023 vs Sweden

  • 37 points – 12 February 2023 vs Sweden

  • 12 made two-pointers – 13 June 2015 vs Great Britain

  • 16 made free throws – 9 February 2025 vs Ireland

  • 6 steals – 6 February 2021 vs Germany

The player with the most appearances in the history of the Latvian women’s national team is Gunta Baško with 195 games. She is followed by Ieva Tāre (148), Aija Jurjāne (140), Anete Jēkabsone-Žogota and Zane Teilāne (134 each), and Liene Jansone (132). Among active players, the national team appearance leader is Ieva Pulvere (112), followed by Kitija Laksa (72) and Kate Vilka (71).
