Latvian airline airBaltic, in cooperation with Citadele Bank, has launched a new payment card – the C airBaltic card. It offers customers across the Baltic States a new way to earn airBaltic Club loyalty points through everyday card purchases and redeem them for future flights.

The new payment card has been developed for members of the airBaltic Club loyalty programme, combining everyday payments with travel benefits. Customers earn one airBaltic Club point for every euro spent on eligible purchases and three points for every euro spent on airBaltic flights purchased on the airline’s website. This allows programme members to accumulate points for reward flights more quickly while enjoying additional benefits when travelling with airBaltic.

Erno Hildén, CEO of airBaltic: “At airBaltic, we are constantly looking for new ways to offer our loyal customers an increasingly diverse travel experience. In cooperation with Citadele Bank, we are expanding the airBaltic Club loyalty programme and making it part of our customers’ everyday lives. The new card makes it significantly easier to earn loyalty points while providing valuable benefits on every flight with us. This is an important step towards delivering even greater added value to air travel.”

Edward Rebane, Member of the Management Board of Citadele Bank responsible for retail banking: “At Citadele, we believe that innovation creates real value when it makes everyday life easier. Through strong partnerships and future-ready digital solutions, we continue to strengthen our position as a leader in digital banking while remaining true to our promise of providing simple and convenient banking services. The new C airBaltic card is another example of how we combine convenience, benefits and a seamless customer experience, supporting our customers both in their everyday financial transactions and when planning their next journeys.”

New Citadele customers who link their card to their airBaltic Club profile receive welcome points. In addition to earning points, cardholders enjoy a range of travel benefits and receive insurance coverage that can be useful both while travelling and when shopping.

In addition to earning points, customers who purchase airBaltic flights with the C airBaltic card are entitled to hand baggage weighing up to 12 kg, earlier online check-in, free seat reservation, airport check-in and baggage drop-off at the Business Class counter, as well as priority boarding.

The card also includes 1 GB of free mobile data for travel via eSIM, as well as travel insurance for the cardholder and their family members while abroad. Customers can also make free euro transfers in Latvia and across Europe, withdraw up to EUR 1,500 per month from ATMs worldwide without commission fees, and access airport VIP lounges for an additional fee.

The new card features a photograph of the Northern Lights taken by airBaltic visual content specialist Anna Matule during a flight from Montreal, Canada, to Riga while flying over Greenland. Just as the C airBaltic card helps bring customers closer to their next journey, the Northern Lights symbolise the unique experiences and discoveries awaiting travellers along the way.

To enjoy airBaltic Club benefits and earn loyalty points, customers must be members of the airBaltic Club loyalty programme and link their C airBaltic card to their airBaltic Club profile.
