Mogo/RSU secured a convincing 9–3 victory over Elektrėnai Energija in Saturday’s Optibet Hockey League away game. Elvis Želubovskis led the charge with three goals, while Kristaps Jākobsons added two. Single tallies came from Māris Bičevskis, Kristers Urbanovičs, Artūrs Veģeris, and Krišjānis Rēdlihs.

Kārlis Mežsargs started in goal for Mogo/RSU, with Rokas Salečs guarding the net for Energija. The visitors opened the scoring just 123 seconds into the game. Niks Feņenko delivered a pass to the left faceoff circle, where Želubovskis fired the puck home in one motion. Less than two minutes later, Artūrs Veģeris battled along the boards, Gints Meija collected the puck and quickly set up Māris Bičevskis for a precise finish. Energija responded soon after, as Sergijs Lonahs scored from the blue line.

Early in the second period, Jākobsons restored Mogo/RSU’s two-goal cushion. Jānis Zemītis fed the puck into the slot; Salečs stopped the initial attempt, but Jākobsons capitalized on the rebound. Kiprs Grabļausks pulled one back for the hosts, yet Jākobsons struck again moments later, this time finishing off a setup from Rolans Vasiļjevs. Želubovskis added another from the left circle, and Urbanovičs redirected a Feņenko shot from the blue line to make it 6–2.

After conceding six goals, Salečs was replaced by Arkādijs Grigaravičs-Rejzins. It took Mogo/RSU five minutes to beat him as well, with Želubovskis completing his hat-trick following a Kristers Ansons assist.

In the opening minute of the third period, Rēdlihs sent Veģeris in alone on goal, and Veģeris made no mistake, finishing high. Energija managed a power-play goal through Egidijs Binkulis, but Rēdlihs rounded off the scoring at 9–3 after another Ansons assist.

Kristaps Jākobsons was named Mogo/RSU’s best player, while Kevins Čerņausks earned the honors for Energija.

Mogo/RSU return to action on Monday, February 23 at 19:15, facing Kijivas Capitals on the road.
